Music Computers

Coleridge Families has bought new computers for the school. They are the latest Apple Macs and each has software to enable children to experiment with making their own tunes and music.

New Climbing Frame

A new climbing frame and play area appeared over the Summer holidays on the West/Juniors side. Opened in time for the start of the Autumn term, Coleridge Families funds were used to help buy the equipment and judging by its popularity, it is a huge hit.

Summer Fair Raises over £13,000

bbq

We were blessed with amazing weather for the summer fair (which, in retrospect, seemed even better given the evening monsoon!), and a great turnout from families and friends. Some children, and quite a few adults, got to show off their skills in the circus skills area. The barbeque, stalls, rides, arts and crafts and art gallery were as popular as ever. Some lucky fair goers were even treated to a massage, or to Mystic Misha reading their fortunes…

Fair-goers were treated to a range of wonderful music – on the stage, in the junior’s hall, and near the entrance. A special mention must go to Golden Time, the teachers’ band. As we’ve always known, Coleridge has got talent!

The school fair has raised an amazing amount – over £13,000. For a breakdown of this figure, see the Revenue Breakdown.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped out.

Spring Dig

Many thanks for the great turnout for this event.

The main task was to turn a patch of land in Coleridge East into an allotment. Before embarking on this, no-one knew that there was an enormous tree stump in the middle of the proposed allotment site. At one point it seemed as though we would never be able to remove it, but blood, toil, tears and sweat won out in the end!

Laurel bushes were planted to try and fill gaps in the hedge in front of Coleridge West. The plants growing into Crescent Road were given a prune, making life easier for everyone walking along that road.

Become a Class Rep

Coleridge Families is only able to run with the support of a network of Class Reps, typically 3-4 per class.

Reps communicate with their class about events and help to run specified events throughout the year by recruiting parents in their class.

We’re looking for class reps for 2009-10, if you’re interested then email us at

Not only is being a rep invlauable in helping us organise and run Coleridge Families but its also a great way of meeting other parents and socialising with other members of the year.
